Trinket Tales — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy covers the Trinket Tales game. For this website, see the website privacy policy.
Trinket Tales ("the game") is made by Cogsprout, Romania. If you have a question about this policy or your data, write to hello@cogsprout.com.
The short version
- Your progress is saved on your phone.
- The game asks your age once. If you are under 13, or don't answer, the game shows no videos and sends nothing about how you play.
- If you are 16 or over and leave Help tune the levels on (Settings), the game sends how levels go, so we can make them fairer. It never sends your name, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Videos (ads) play only when you tap a video button, and only for players 13 and over.
What stays on your phone
Your progress, settings, beads, pieces and a log of the moves you made in recent levels are stored on your phone. They are not sent to us. Android may include them in your own phone backup to your Google account, under your control. "Start over" in Settings wipes your progress.
The age question
The game asks your age the first time you start. We use the answer only to decide what the game may do:
| Your answer | Videos | Measuring play | Crash reports |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 13, or no answer | none | off | off |
| 13 to 15 | when you tap one, never personalised | off | off |
| 16 or 17 | when you tap one, never personalised | if you allow it | if you allow it |
| 18 or over | when you tap one; personalised only if you turn it on | if you allow it | if you allow it |
Players in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are also asked for consent in a separate form before any of this starts, and can change their choice in Settings.
Measuring play (Google Analytics for Firebase)
If allowed (see the table), the game sends events such as: a level started or ended, the level number, whether it was won, moves left, time taken, boosters used, and whether a video finished. Google Analytics for Firebase adds general device information (model, Android version, language, approximate country) and a random ID for this installation of the game. It does not use your advertising ID. We keep this data for 2 months.
Turn it off at any time: Settings → Help tune the levels.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If allowed (see the table), when the game crashes it sends a crash report: what the game was doing, the device model, Android version and a random installation ID. We keep crash reports for 90 days. Google Play also gives us anonymous crash and freeze statistics for every player, which identify no one.
Videos (Google AdMob)
The game offers short videos you can choose to watch for a reward (an extra life, more moves, gold). They come from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and information about the ad you saw, as described in Google's policy. For players under 18 the game asks AdMob for non-personalised ads only; adults can turn personalised videos on in Settings. Under 13 there are no videos.
Purchases
The game does not sell anything for real money at the moment.
Children
The game is meant for players 13 and over. If a player tells the game they are under 13, the game sends no data about them and shows no ads. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to see or delete data linked to your installation, by writing to hello@cogsprout.com. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in Romania: ANSPDCP, www.dataprotection.ro).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
